Bon Appétit magazine named I Luv Teriyaki as one of its recommended Seattle teriyaki shops.

In its current Thanksgiving issue, the national food magazine lists the Georgetown spot as one of its eight recommended Seattle teriyaki spots. The article by Seattle-based writer Allecia Vermillion praises the short ribs teriyaki and notes that diners actually eat off plates rather than the ubiquitous default clamshell boxes.

In 2022, a kitchen fire destroyed the restaurant at 6500 4th Ave S. It finally reopened in March in a new building on the same spot with an expanded menu.

In a statement, owners Don and Eva Lo said they were excited and honored to be recognized. “We’ve worked incredibly hard to bring our restaurant back, and being recognized by such a prestigious magazine is very special to us. We’re grateful for the continued support from our Georgetown community and our loyal customers.”

This is not the first time a national food magazine recognized a Georgetown eatery. Food & Wine named Deep Sea Sugar & Salt’s cakes as one of its “Best Bites of 2022.”
