Seattle City Light said Thursday night “equipment failure” was the cause behind a outage that knocked out power to over 7,800 South Seattle customers, including those in Georgetown.
At 8:48 p.m., the lights flashed and then went out for many, TVs cut off and the background hum of modern life disappeared.
Before 10 p.m. the utility said power was restored to most customers, except 748, which appeared to be those in Georgetown.
The utility web site estimated power would be restored by 3 a.m.
