The Georgetown Gazette recently caught up with Clint Berquist, the producer of the first two Lot Rocks to ask about rumors surrounding the possibility of a third Lot Rock happening this summer. For those new to the neighborhood, or those who were just out of town on specific, late summer weekends in 2021 and 2023, Lot Rock is a music festival … in a lot. And it Rocks!

Gazette: Is Lot Rock 3 Happening?

Clint: People always ask me about another Lot Rock and in the past, I’ve said that the last Lot Rock in 2023 would be it.  But, before that I said that the first Lot Rock in 2021 would be the only Lot Rock ever.  I do believe that the best things come in threes, so I have decided to give the people what they want.

Gazette: Is this going to happen in the same lot on Flora Avenue as before?

Clint: Unfortunately, the event has outgrown the old lot, and we never really had permission from the actual owner.  Lot Rock 3 is going to happen at a whole new lot.  But, in keeping with past tradition, the location will be a bit of a surprise for now.

Gazette: Can you give us a hint?

Clint: The third one is a two-day festival that is going to get a lot steamier.

Gazette: Steamy? Interested to see what that means. So, when is it and how and when can people learn of the location?

Clint: People should circle their calendars for Saturday, Aug. 29 and Sunday, Aug. 30. The lineup and more details will be announced on the Lot Rock Instagram page (@lot_rock) in the coming months.

Gazette: Who is going to be playing?

Clint: You can expect to see the same Lil Lebowsxi Urban Underacheivers who tore up the Equinox Studios Very Open House last December.  You can also expect Seattle’s hottest new band, Radio School, made up by photographer Kim Miller, Georgetown neighbor Alan B. Foote, and superhuman drum machine Erin David Tate.  We’ll keep the rest of the lineup a surprise for now, but there will be a wide variety of amazing performers who know how to get a crowd moving. My liked songs playlist is full of nothing but BANGERS!

Gazette: Do you need other bands?

Clint: I have a pretty full lineup, but if you are a neighborhood band that wants to be part of the fun, get in touch with me and I’ll see if I can squeeze you in. (Email clintberquist@hotmail.com)

Gazette: Can we tell our friends from other neighborhoods who want to visit?

Clint:  Since we have permission for this lot, It’s OK to tell friends.  Try to encourage them to bike here though because parking is limited.

Gazette: How much does it cost?

Clint:  Lot Rock 3 is free and all-ages.  Get ready for an epically fun weekend!
