Salmon and Legacy Debris Project

Volunteer Opportunity: Help Clean the Duwamish River!

By Anna Bachmann

Puget Soundkeeper Alliance a clean water non-profit in Seattle, is gearing up for the next phase of its Salmon and Legacy Project. This project is bringing attention to tires and other debris that have been in our waterways for way too long. It's what we call "Legacy Debris".

This summer, we intend to do an Intergenerational Day Camp to do a deep dive on how this is impacting salmon and waterways like the Duwamish. We'll also begin tackling the cleanup of some of the big debris fields along a 6 mile stretch of the upper Duwamish in Tukwila.

We have just opened registration for the following events in July (more to come in August).
