Call for Artist Instructors: GTAAC Education Week Workshops

The Georgetown Arts & Culture Association (GTAAC) is seeking proposals from individual teaching artists and educators to provide 1-day workshops to Georgetown residents during the week of May 10-17, 2026.

Workshop topics can be artist-taught creative skills or business skills that apply to running a creative business. Examples of potential classes include blacksmithing, frame or crate building, improv, website building, branding, grant writing, etc.
Each artist will receive $1,000 in funding after the workshop is completed and a report has been received by GTAAC. Funding can be used to cover instructor’s fees, preparation time, materials, and venue rental fees as applicable. GTAAC will assist in marketing and scheduling as necessary.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be reviewed by GTAAC and chosen based on the best match to the evaluation criteria defined below.
Feasibility – Demonstrated ability by applicant to accomplish the project and evidence of clear and thoughtful planning.
Public Benefit – Ability of the project to provide enriching public engagement.
Equity – Potential of the project to engage underserved or underrepresented members of the Georgetown community.
Educational Merit – Benefit to students for professional development.
Timeline
February 23, 2026 – Call opens for applications.
March 17th, 2026 – Application call closes.
May 10-19th, 2026 – Workshops to take place.
May 31st, 2026 – Final reports due from teaching artists.
How To Apply
Please fill out the application form online or email your proposal to info@georgetown-arts-culture.org before March 17th, 2026. Your submission needs to include the following:
Project Synopsis (2-3 sentences) – A brief description of your workshop idea.
Project Description (500 words max) – Complete description of your workshop idea, including if you have taught the workshop before and what benefits the students will receive.
Project Timeline – All projects must be completed between May 10th and May 17th and final reports completed by May 31st.
Current bio and resume or artist CV – Please include for each individual if working as a team. Please include a note on your connection to Georgetown if applicable.
